Seattle & Canada
We split up at night and went about in our own adventure. We went to the ferris wheel first in downtown which was wasn't too expensive and was pretty fun. It almost reminds me of a scene in My lucky star...

Day 2
We started a rainy morning with a recommendation from Justin. Paseo - Cuban Sandwiches, which luckily didn't have an overly long line. This place has over 4000+ reviews and 4.5 stars so I had to go!!! The sandwiches were very flavorful and cheap, but it was a bit messy for my preference. Once the sauce gets all over your hands, it's kinda gross. After the sandwiches, we drove to the Seattle Needle. Parking wasn't too bad, found a sketchy spot for 7 bucks. When we got there, we were pleasantly surprised with the events around the needle. There was a Native American POW WOW and Eileen got to pet a horse. She was so scared hehe. We also went to a tribal meeting, went to a food court of people dancing, and lastly a place that sold holographic leaves. Pretty rad. Last thing we did was visit the space needle. We got to spell "V" from L O V E. Next thing we did was go to Pikes Market. The sky was getting a bit nicer. My impression of Pikes Market is a very touristy white people seafood market. There's lots of food to eat around the area, but it took forever for the popular places. Particularly the clam chowder and the first starbucks. The lines were off the heezy. We decided to wait in line for some spot called Piroshky Piroshky. Looked packing, but the Kevin Review gives this place a 3 star. I've had better. It's some sort of pastry. I may bias though since I don't like meat pastries. Last thing we did. I waited for Eileen as she got her henna and took a beautiful picture by the bay :) Now back to the glass museum! They had some half off deal so we squatted outside until it was cheap and then I used my corporate discount. To my surprise, the place was pretty cool. Plenty of stuff to see and very interesting glass designs. I'm generally not a fan of art museums, but this one was very decent. After a whole bunch of pictures, we went to Shiros for some sushi. This was a recommendation from Sushi Nakazawa which I had in Japan. It was good, but nothing special that I haven't had before! As we headed home, we stopped by the iconic Elephant Car Wash :)

May 30, 2016, Day 3
Off to Vancouver we go! It was about a 2 hour drive, and I was so excited! I think Kevin was excited, but judging from the picture on the right he looks unimpressed hehe. We got to Vancouver at around 1:30 PM. Our first impression was "Whoaaaa so beautiful! Let's move here one day!" The area we lived in also reminded us of Hong Kong. Anyways, upon arrival we tried and failed looking for our Airbnb, so we went into the International Mall (I think that's what it was called), ordered some food, jacked their wifi,, and waited for the Airbnb host to respond. After some delay we finally got to our airbnb, and it was BEAUTIFUL! Such a cute, modern, and chic place with a pretty view too! The only complaint was the construction noise in the morning/ afternoon sometimes. By the time we got settled in it was around 3PM, and we decided to go biking. Unfortunately, when we got to the bike rental place they were almost closing, so we decided to do it another time. Hmmm...what should we do next? We decided to trace back to our roots and visited Chinatown as well as the Sun Yat Sen Park. It was very Asian, just the way we like it haha! Throughout the park we were humming Chinese music while reenacting scenes from dramas (*ahem* aka a Step Into The Past). Yes, Kevin is very lame...jk! |
Buh bye beautiful park! Time to watch the NBA finals. After that intense game we watched in Seattle (Warriors against OKC), Kevin had to watch this one, so being the amazing girlfriend that I am I went to watch it with him! Since this was Vancouver I don't think many people cared about the NBA finals, so we went to a nearby pizza place, and got the whole restaurant to ourselves! Yummy pizza too, but then again how can you really mess up pizza?

The game ended, and it was kind of late. We decided to walk around the area, and saw the little steam clock. We also went up this observatory deck right before sunset, and got some cool pictures (or so we thought).
I seriously took so many pictures with the same pose because photographer Kevin was chasing after perfection, but that's just the A type in him...
May 31, 2016- Day 4
Rise and Shine! The early bird gets the worm. Today was another beautiful day, and we decided to get brunch at Jam Cafe then go biking along the Seawall.

Who's this mysterious photographer? Caught in the act of being BASIC
Biking along the Seawall was so much fun! We went through the park, and got to see many different areas and monuments. Some of my favorites were definitely the Totem Poles, the Lighthouse, and spotting that random Chevron in the middle of the waters.
Next stop: Granville Island Public Market! We thought this would be like Pike Place in Seattle, but it was wayyy less packed and not as much to do. We probably finished the market in less than 40 minutes, and then referred to Yelp to look for some food because we're always hungry. Usually Kevin doesn't like grilled cheese sandwiches too much, but he loved the one at this restaurant, and they had this quinoa salad that was the bomb dot com.
You would think after the bike ride and the market we would take a break, but nope! This was our second and our last day in Vancouver, so we made sure to pack our schedule. After we filled our bellies we went to the Museum of Anthropology! This museum got really good ratings, and you know we're suckers for good ratings! Also, tickets were pretty cheap. The museum was very...historical as expected. There were tall huge windows that made this museum look extra fancy. I loved the organization of the different exhibits as well. My favorites were definitely the Asian artifacts, the one that discussed different tribes, and the outdoor area they had! Kevin and I spent some time outside just frolicking in the grass and trying to take cool pictures. The museum was very informational and there was a lot to learn, so we recommend it. However, Kevin and I always have our weird inside jokes and might have been slightly disruptive. Oh! I don't think they allowed cameras, but we were rebels and recorded some footage anyways mwahahaha
Below are some shots of when Kevin tried to show me how to do this "bae" pose, which he gave up on because I was terrible at it :(
Goodbye Vancouver! Until next time!
But wait! Before the trip officially ends, we stopped by Seattle to visit the Gasworks. It was full of poop everywhere! I've never seen so much dog poop before!!!
